CONGRATULATIONS to Carly Levine for winning the Laser Cosmetica raffle we had at Obliterati!

Obliterati’s Internet Week New York party took place at its usual spot, Sweet & Vicious in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood.  This month, however, the party occupied the whole bar and the organizers made an effort to remove as many tables and chairs as possible.  As a result, the bar seemed quite spacious, especially after 9 PM when attendees began heading off to other nearby events.  There were, of course, jargaritas, a tarp covering the outdoor space in the event of rain, a live Twitter feed which worked for about an hour or so, and gift bags, but I mentioned those already.

OBLITERATI GIFT BAGS FTW!

Jeff Bercovici, of AOL Daily Finance, with the Wall Street Journal’s Mary Pilon (once known as Gawker’s Intern Mary).

Other old-schoolers from the pre-2008/Tumblr/Foursquare era who came out to Obliterati: Internet Week included photographer Nikola Tamindzic, Chris Mohney of Blackbook (ex-managing editor of Gawker), Alexis Swerdloff of Paper (previously Gawker’s Intern Alexis, originator of Altarcations), CNBC’s John Carney, Flavorpill’s Mark Langan, Popular Mechanics’s Seth Porges, and Gawker founding editor Elizabeth Spiers, now supervising blog launches for b5media including Crushable and TheGloss (whose content team Lilit Marcus and Jennifer Wright also joined us).

I miss one Obliterati and the Keegs shows up! It’s been a long time since I posted an update on behalf of The Society for Latter Day Keegan Appreciation. As it happens, Ellie has his cell number because OF COURSE SHE DOES and just texted him to see what’s popping tonight.

UPDATE: Keegs texted us back. He’s leaving early tomorrow morning, so can’t be my date to the Foursquare party. Andrew Keegan: consistently tan, always responsible.
